Getting english subtitles on a burned japanese dvd?

I have a burned dvd from a friend a long time ago, it's final fantasy advent children. I decided to watch it but when i select english its only in swedish. He must of not got the subtitles on their to good. Is there anyway i good get subtitles on this movie through my computer?
