Can you tell if an anime is the original english subtitles if the intro subtitles match the original?

1. Many times anime dubs are rewritten to go with the music, with subs it is difficult to say- often it depends on if you have a lazy translator. Rarely will you get a direct translation, as the words need to be translated and the sentence order rearranged, but the basic meaning should be the same. The best way to tell is to look up the direct translation online and see if the sub matches up :)
