Fullscreen ok, windowed mode mega slow...?

1. Everything will run faster in fullscreen mode, think about it . . . In windowed mode it has to render a 3d directx overlay AND your 2D desktop. At high resolutions this is hard on lower end cards such as the 2600, unless its the XT. In fullscreen it only has to render the 3d overlay, and it will render it at the default resolution of the game, which is most likely 640x480 or 800x600, which is usually lower then your desktop resolution. You can try lowering your desktop color depth to 16 bit to try and get faster windowed performance.
