Samsung CRT TV samsung tv txp3064: Blue screen problem?

I have a Samsung tv txp3064 that I bought in December 2004. A couple of weeks back as I was watching it turned blue (took about a minute) completely and from that time onwards, all I get is a blue screen. When I turn on the tv, I get a bright white line in the middle of the screen and then it turns blue. The sound is normal and the subtitles are displayed in haze. Since it is not under warranty, I have to take it to an authorized service place locally. The tv weighs considerably. Can anyone know from the above description if the tube is gone and/or it is worth repairing? Thanks for your help in advance. PS: I did try unplugging and plugging back. Nothing worked.

  1. The bright white line is not the tube , it is a vert collapse caused may be vert amp chip or supply to the chip. You sound to have two conflicting fault symptoms as you can not have a full blue screen and a vert collapse at the same time ! . It really needs to be seen by a TV Tech to give an opinion .
