Get Subtitles

How to add subtitles on movie?

I got a movie(avi) and another file called sub file which contains the subtitles. I tried windows media player and i could not find an option, i also tried Divx Player put when i click on the subtitle file to add them, i got an error that the file is not supported, so which players do you recommend that will work?

1. post in correct section. right click on the movie and click add subtitles and choose the path of the file .better use vlc
