Get Subtitles

i cant use the subtitles that i download from the internet?

well i have microsoft office 2007 and i want to use subtitles that i have downloaded from the internet . the only problem is that when i' m trying to use them they don't work because my computer cant use them unless i download an other program .. can someone tell what's the problem ?
