Where can I download movie subtitles other than srt format?

I want to download movie subtitles. However, I cannot open srt subtitles on my computer and I don't want to download additional programs. Does anyone know subtitles other than srt format? Does anyone know websites that provide subtitles other than srt format? I don't want to download any additional media players or other programs because my computer doesn't support so much memory.

1. Not sure why you can't access srt files, but when I use VLC media player I have a hard time opening the subtitles too. Have you tried using the "Media Player Classic" program that comes with the K-Lite Codec Pack? It handles the srt subtitles beautifully, and as long as the srt file is in the same folder as the movie, you will be able to access the subtitles in the MPC menu Also, I'm assuming that you have K-Lite, because most people I know do, I think Media Player just comes along with download
