how can i apply subtitle to a movie?

ive downloaded a movie forbidden kingdom but i can't understand when they speaks in chinese the movie format is avi and a subtitle included .srt but when i play the movie i can't see any subtitle..

1. The subtitle doesn't appear because it hasn't been applied yet. To apply a subtitle, do the following: 1. Download "Media Player Classic" http://www.download.com/Media-Player-Classic/3000-2139_4-10518778.html?cdlPid=10518777 2. Go to "File==>Open File" and choose the avi file. 2. Go to "File==>Load Subtitle" and load the .srt subtitle. Well, that's all. The subtitle should now appear.
