Get Subtitles

How to enable subtitles in VLC media player?

I have the dvd. The subtitles work fine with my dvd player but when I played it in my laptop with VLC media player, it doesn't work. I already did everything I could. I right clicked then selected subtitles then selected track 1 but it still doesn't work. I went to my preferences, wrote .\subtitles to subtitle auto detection path. Checked the on screen display and autodetect subtitle files for subtitles/OSD. But it still doesn't work! Please help.

  1. right click on screen and if the video really has subtitles u will have an option 'subtitles track'... u can select any language available...
  2. Method 1: If you open VLC - go to "File" - >"Open file" - under tab "file" you have "Open" (movie) and "Use subtitles file". I think you can right click when playing a movie and choose ad subtitle or something like that also. Method 2: http://www.hacktrix.com/easiest-way-to-load-subtitles-in-vlc-media-player
