Can I put a movie on ipod nano to play with subtitles?

I'm new to ipod an itunes. I have a DVD with several subtitle options. I wan to put in on my ipod nano to play with french subtitles. Will it allow me to see the movie with the subtitles or not? If I can, how do I do that ? Is an itunes or ipod setup ? Thanks.

I dont think you can do that. you can find the movie you want with french subs, then download it to your hard drive, then i think you can..
