Why does my movie turn Black & White when subtitles comes on?

DVD movie Kung Fu Hustle turns to black and white whenever the subtitle words pop up on the bottom of the screen then returns to color when the subtitles disappear. I tried other movies with subtitles and they all do it. Even the main menu does.

1. I was having the same problem, just found a solution that might help you out if you are using a pc/mac. Try switching off hardware acceleration in your program preferences. It worked for me.
