How to add subtitles to a movie? Like compile the .avi file with the .srt file.?

Hey there, I am playing movies on my Xbox 360 through the Network. I add all the movies I have to the "Videos" folder in the Users account and play them on the Xbox 360, therefore on TV. I downloaded a subtitle for the movie 17 Again (.avi) the subtitle is (.srt). I can only view it if I use Media Player Classic and add the subtitle so I can read and watch, I lack good concentration so I like to read while watching. This is the subtitle I downloaded - http://subscene.com/downloadissue.aspx?subtitleId=240250&contentType=zip When ever I am playing the movie on my Xbox 360 and I press the "subtitles" icon, it says "Action Not Available". I don't know what that means. Both the .srt and the .avi are in the same folder. What can I do in order to compile the subtitles with the movie so they can both be just one file (.avi)?
