Get Subtitles

putting subtitles into a movie?

i am trying to put subtitles in the movie war. but it wont work. im using vlc media player. ive tried going to file>open file>click use subtitle file and add the subtitles but when i do that and try to start the movie a window comes up and says its a Unrecognized format for that file. the movie file is War[2007]DvDrip[Eng]-aXXo i downloaded the subtitles from here http://subscene.com/s.aspx?subtitle=War[2007]DvDrip[Eng]-aXXo please help i just wanna watch the damn movie and know what they are saying

1. y can try many way one you can play the movie then carry the subtitles and left it over the movie while it play or y move the movie file and the subtitles file to one folder then rename the subtitles as the movie name exactly and run the movie file and it will begin with subtitle or y can use
