Do you believe you will be fined for not having health coverage under Obama's plan?

You better, because it's true. From the Senate Proposal .pdf: ‘‘SEC. 59B. SHARED RESPONSIBILITY PAYMENTS. 22 ‘‘(a) PAYMENT.— 23 ‘‘(1) IN GENERAL.—In the case of any indi 24 vidual who did not have in effect qualifying coverage 1 (as defined in section 3116 of the Public Health 2 Service Act) for any month during the taxable year, 3 there is hereby imposed for the taxable year, in addi4 tion to any other amount imposed by this subtitle, 5 an amount equal to the amount established under 6 paragraph (2). 7 ‘‘(2) AMOUNT ESTABLISHED.— 8 ‘‘(A) REQUIREMENT TO ESTABLISH.—Not 9 later than June 30 of each calendar year, the 10 Secretary, in consultation with the Secretary of 11 Health and Human Services and with the 12 States, shall establish an amount for purposes 13 of paragraph (1). 14 ‘‘(B) EFFECTIVE DATE.—The amount es 15 tablished under subparagraph (A) shall be ef 16 fective with respect to the taxable year following 17 the date on which the amount under subpara 18 graph (A) is established. 19 ‘‘(C) REQUIRED CONSIDERATION.—In es 20 tablishing the amount under subparagraph (A), 21 the Secretary shall seek to establish the min 22 imum practicable amount that can accomplish 23 the goal of enhancing participation in qualifying 24 coverage (as so defined). If this is NOT a fine, then why does it also say ‘‘(b) EXEMPTIONS.—Subsection (a) shall not apply to 2 any individual— (5) for whom a payment under subsection (a) 21 would otherwise represent an exceptional financial 22 hardship, as determined by the Secretary I know. Not only will they not admit it, they won't even entertain the IDEA. It's really sad. It IS in the proposal, you dumbass. I just copied and pasted this FROM the Senate proposal .pdf that I have saved to my desktop! What is with you people?? Are you hypnotized or robots or what? Angela: You again? More assumptions? I don't WANT government insurance of any kind at all. I want regular health insurance that I pay for and that's it. I think I've stated that pretty clearly on this forum over the past few months. So thanks for making it so easy AGAIN to make you look stupid. Oh, and I notice you didn't comment on the excerpt from the legislation this time. Don't you want to call it a "sick rant"? Lol. I know the real reason: it's because you can't understand what it's saying, isn't it? I believe that's have the reason almost none of you read it - you can't understand it.

  1. That has already been admitted but people still don't believe it. The amount isn't for sure but they said something like $2,500
  2. No because it's not in the bill . Survey Finds High Fees Common in private Medical Care insurance A patient in Illinois was charged $12,712 for cataract surgery. Medicare pays $675 for the same procedure. In California, a patient was charged $20,120 for a knee operation that Medicare pays $584 for. And a New Jersey patient was charged $72,000 for a spinal fusion procedure that Medicare covers for $1,629.
  3. Yes.
  4. I wouldn't put it pass this administration.
  5. and you wonder why no one wants him
  6. The problem here is that you're trying to game the system. You want to be able to opt out while you are healthy, then get low-cost government health care when you get sick. The point of having a public option is that everybody pays for the cost of health care for the public, just like insurance pools used to be before the insurance companies decided to kill off all the sick people who are costing them money. It's called a risk pool. You don't get to decide not to pay for your share of the cost of running the local fire department, then start paying after your house catches on fire. Works the same way. ∠°)
