Question about cloning method: DNA microinjection?

i got more simple, better info off another site about dna- microinjection, but this site [http://www.dkfz.de/en/transgen-service/methods/DNAmicroinjection.html] seems the most precise and accurate. However, is it just me or does part of it say something about eutenasia. Can somebody explain to me why the method involved euthenasia. Im hoping its a typo :P And with the dot points. To carry out DNA micro-injection, is every dot point in the article neccessary. Or do ya just pick one from each subtitle?? Thanks for the help. You dont have to tell me how to do DNA micro-injection, or else you'd be doing my assignment :) Thanks in advance ps. in order to understand the question, please click on the link. Its not 10pages long.In fact its only one page two pages max.. :) thanks oops thnx for lettin me know ~ http://www.dkfz.de/en/transgen-service/methods/DNAmicroinjection.html there it is again please work? h2so4: what do u mean i got it right? Are you just saying that so i think im right so you'll get 10 points. ps. I want to be contradicted (if you have a good clear reason to).. Cuz how can euthenasia be connected with cloning? To my knowledge euthenasia is killing someone whos terminally ill.. am i right?

  1. Your link seems to be broken; please see if it works from this screen.

  3. The link I see says "Euthanasia of the donor females by cervical dislocation and preparation of the embryos under the microscope" It's about mice - they sacrifice the mated female mouse to get the embryos out by dissecting her, since it is the embryos that are used for cloning, and it would be prohibitively difficult to remove the microscopic embryos from the mother mouse while keeping her alive. They then put the injected embryos into another female. Euthanasia just means humane killing (presumably without causing suffering). Cervical dislocation, if you're curious, means breaking the neck - they very quickly and cleanly decapitate the mouse. It's routine, and they do make it as humane as possible because if they didn't, the scientists who have to do it routinely would be very unhappy. You can just say that they retrieve the embryos from the pregnant female; there is no need to describe how she is killed because it's irrelevant to the cloning process. It should be assumed that in mice, there is sacrifice, but if it were done in humans, such a procedure would not involve euthanasia.
