Get Subtitles

Is it possible to add optional subtitles to a burnt movie?

Like as if it were a dvd extra. Is there a website out there that allows me to download only subtitles for that movie and add into the created dvd as an option for the movie watcher?

  1. http://www.opensubtitles.org/en is the BEST resource. comprehensive list of movies that are subtitled, and easy to download. they have helpful FAQs too. however, my hint is that if you download a small text document, and just make sure that it is named the same thing as your .avi file (it'll end in .srt instead), then Windows should hook them up in Media Player automatically (make sure they're in the same folder too). Alternatively, if you're using Region-Free software (I recommend DVD Region-Free), then it can sync subtitles and video. It's sometimes fun to go into the subtitles and change some of the words around (such as a character's name) to be the name of a friend with whom you're watching the movie. Especially when it quickly becomes obvious that this isn't their real name.
