Here is part of the HR1388 Bill’s wording: SEC. 1304. PROHIBITED ACTIVITIES AND INELIGIBLE ORGANIZATIONS. Section 125 (42 U.S.C. 12575) is amended to read as follows: SEC. 125. PROHIBITED ACTIVITIES AND INELIGIBLE ORGANIZATIONS. (a) Prohibited Activities- A participant in an approved national service position under this subtitle may not engage in the following activities: (1) Attempting to influence legislation. (2) Organizing or engaging in protests, petitions, boycotts, or strikes. (In other words dissent is not allowed nor is dissenting influence.) (7) Engaging in religious instruction, conducting worship services, providing instruction as part of a program that includes mandatory religious instruction or worship, constructing or operating facilities devoted to religious instruction or worship, maintaining facilities primarily or inherently devoted to religious instruction or worship, or engaging in any form of religious proselytization. What does undermind mean?
Because he is a socialist. This is one of the many freedoms that will be taken away from us under a socialist govt.
He wants to make is so that churches don't keep getting federal dollars. It means you can't go on a mission for your church and call it service to your country. Oh, and by the way, a house bill doesn't mean Obama supports it anyway. Republicans, on the other hand, passed the Patriot act, which actually DID suppress free speech.
He wants to have us become a Socialist country and keep control in the hands of the Government and away from the people.

Same reason Bush wanted to tap our phone lines. If people are allowed to say whatever the hell they want then you can't hide all the nonsense you're throwing at them. If people have free speech then they can go out on the street and say "the president is doing something wrong".

Why can't republicans SPELL correctly in their rants? I could answer this if I knew what UnderMIND meant. Obama just wants to fix 8 years of Bush's screw ups......why do republicans want to UNDERMINE that?
Much of what you are objecting to has been LAW for decades: The Hatch Act, which prohibits Government employees from campaigning, striking, protesting, etc. That does NOT preclude "whistleblowing," which itself has built-in legal protections for the whistleblower. (YOUR interpretation of that as 'not allowing dissent' is a real stretch there, Bill-O) As far as 'freedom of religion' there is NOTHING that prevents people from observing their preferred religious practice(s), in private and in their hearts, but what this DOES do is to keep SEPARATE the government from engaging in religion... after all, if you don't want government in religion, then logic dictates that you not have religion in government. Speaking of which, I'm sure that you recall the New Testament tale about how Jesus threw the money-changers out of the Temple.... right? Do you remember WHY? Well, in that vein, consider this: WHY is God's NAME on our money? Money is a dirty tool, antithetical to everything sacred and holy. I, for one, would like to see NO money, from now on, to have God's name on it. Maybe you remember another New Testament tale: Jesus saying: "Render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar's and render unto God that which is God's." I may be a dumb college type, but that sure seems clear to me. How 'bout you, Bill-O? That's why PUBLIC schools and buildings are prohibited from holding prayer meetings or any other kind of religious observation. That's nothing new, and there's a good reason for it. And you object to college kids spending 100 hours a YEAR and high school and secondary students spending a whole whopping 50 hours PER YEAR in public awareness-type programs? 1 or 2 hours a WEEK? Good grief. Maybe you are too young to remember 'the draft.' Done fairly and equitably, young men from all regions and all walks of life would serve 2 years in the military. The draft is gone but the various military branches are now more or less co-ed. Now consider Switzerland: ALL men between 18 and 65 are in the Army. They have a certain amount of time in uniform and then they are on active standby, with a submachine gun and 500 rounds of ammo in their hall closet during their service period. Now consider Israel: ALL young men AND women spend time in uniform, then go on active standby reserve, with their gear, including an Uzi (the Uzi was invented in Israel...) at home and ready to utilize. Compare the fighting capability of the take-no-shlt Israelis to ANY of their enemies and ask yourself: is their country STRONG because EVERYONE is committed to it? Or do you have something against "giving something back" to your country. Or is this something that you would wholeheartedly embrace if Bush thought of it but sucks as an idea because Obama thought of it? Where is YOUR loyalty, Bill-O?
Obama is a Hitler spawn that is ruining this country instead of trying to build the country back up, he has no idea of what he is doing, and trying to limit the amount of speech that an individual has is trying to stop people who are opposed to his presidency. There is a separation of church and government that Obama needs to observe as well. That is why you cannot have any type of religious material on government property. In 1802 Thomas Jefferson wrote that the "First Amendment of the Constitution is a "Wall of Separation" between the Government and Religion. This tells me that Obama is trying to do things without considering or consulting with his cabinet whether such legislation is constitutional or not. The Constitution even has wording that prohibits the government from trying to pass laws that infringe upon the First Amendment rights of citizens of the United States. Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. This all goes to show that Obama has no idea of what he is doing, and this is the same thing that Adolph Hitler did in Nazi Germany, before the start of World War 2, when he started limiting the rights of German citizens, in an attempt to stop the opposition to his leadership. Obama needs to sit down and take the time to read the US Constitution, Bill of Rights and Declaration of Independence.
