What to do in case subtitles are displayed faster than video in VLC media player?

I have to watch a movie in VLC player with english subtitles. the problem is that subtitles are appearing faster than the video and audio files. This makes things difficult to understand. Anyone have idea how to decrease speed of subtitles or synchronise it with audio and video.
