How to keep the subtitles from a ripped dvd?

I have ripped a dvd and have converted it into an avi format. But i want the subtitles to show when i play the movie in avi format....Please Help!

1. you can't Because the subtitle itself is seperated from the movie.
2. it wont work if you do it like that, if you have the original dvd then download dvd decryptor and dvd shrink. use dvd decryptor to read the dvd and put it on your hard drive as an iso then use dvd shrink to read the iso and shrink the dvd to a size that will fit on the dvd disk.
