Get Subtitles

Are the Spanish subtitles in movies that are in English grammatically correct? I want to practice my Spanish, and I know that a good way to do this is to listen to native Spanish speakers and/or read what they're saying. So obviously watching Spanish movies would help. But I can't find a lot of good Spanish movies, so if I watched English movies with Spanish voice-overs and/or subtitles, would that work just as well, or will there be mistakes with the translation?

dvd is giving me spanish subtitles (no remote!)? Ok, this dvd player is wierd. If I pause a dvd and come back to it later, it will put on the subtitles. I hate that. Well, I just popped in The Cable Guy to watch, and there is spanish subtitles on the screen. How annoying. I don't have the remote to this sucker, so how do I fix this? The only button on the dvd player besides the normal play, rewind, etc is a ez view button for the screen formatting. That doesn't help. Is there a way to fix this?

Why might my TV randomly have spanish subtitles? How do I get rid of it? My tv (magnavox.. just a regular one, 13 inch) randomly has spanish subtitles pop up during certain commercials or shows. There is no translation or language setting on my tv! There is a closed captioning setting, and turning it off EVERY time the subtitles pop up makes them go away but only until the next time they randomly pop up. Before I call the company, do any of you have any other ideas? (also, this didn't happen when I was using an antenna, now I am on regular basic cable) (In case anyone else sees this question to answer) I've gone through the TV's menus over and over and there is absolutely no subtitle option.
